An Open Letter to the Human Race

I saw a video recently, of a young man suicide note, and it became a sort of turning point for me because it made me question my silence. I believed for quite a while that I was not permitted to speak or more like I was scared of speaking up because there is so much I didn't know and I didn't want to make a mistake. I was trying to play it safe, in order not to bring attention to myself. I know now that is an invalid excuse. I can't keep silent any longer, I need to let you know that humanity is lost.
Humans you see are products of choice; those we make and the aftermath of the choices others make. The thing is we have been making a whole lot of wrong choices because it has caused more harm than good to fellow humans. I have seen and learnt through history how inhumane we can be. People have such delight in oppressing and feeding off the ignorance of others, the fight for equality has become a show for superiority, less people live outside the status quo and maybe it is because they are scared to stand up for what is true. The ones that stand up for humanity are shut down every day, I dare say killed, and those that cannot be killed are absorbed, slowly turned to become just like them.
Every day people are forced to pick sides and willed to conform, hate has prevailed you see and we are passing down the pains, fears and hate generation after generation, tearing each other down. Humans have grown accustomed to a division be it by race, colour, gender or wealth and if it is anything to go by, you should see the prejudice and strict roles people are made to fit into in a bid to create order. Culture thrives on forcing people into boxes, trying to create a general image of everyone in it not accounting for the difference of each human and it is breeding resentment. There is not enough love, the little that we live by is suffocated and slowly extinguished. We believe we have grown you see, with technology we are creating the future, doing exploit; travelling to space and exploring the universe, connecting the world together. Yet the killings are only getting worse. Day in day out, humans are killing our planet, ourselves and it hurts that a lot more don't seem to care or give regards to the concerns of others.
The truth is this, I might never have the complete fact but I am willing to learn and face the issues and address them. I am inspired by a small group of people that have moved away from this instinct of fear and tearing down of others for personal gains. People that have decided to lay down their lives for others, humans clothed with empathy, willing and ready to take a mile in others' shoes, looking away from the division we have created and choose to see just the human race. They have decided not just to live with love wherever they find themselves but to impact others to live better lives for others and the planet. They are seeking justice and living with kindness, the love and respect they have for everything living is beyond my imaging and the most amazing thing is that they are not waiting for human's applause or appreciation. I choose to cast my lot with them and become humble, open and transparent in my dealing with others, learning to speak up and lend my voice to those that lost theirs and love genuinely even if I know I might be shut down.
The main reason I am writing to you is this, I want to make a plea that you start making a different choice, by different I mean right, a choice that would ensure no harm comes to your fellow human and if that is too much of a task, I implore you then not to silence those that have started this journey and maybe, just maybe, we would bring the human race to the place it is supposed to be, back to humanity and from there we would build a future above division and bound with love.
Thank you for reading my letter.
I turned 20 on Saturday 8th August 2020 and I am super excited especially with the fact that this is my 20th post.
Often times, I keep silent about a lot of things and I am terrified of letting people know my opinions about things because people can be brutal when they tear down things they do not understand and agree with, especially those that are older than you are. One Bible passage that has encouraged not to be scared is this and I am sharing just in case you need the extra support. It was in a letter Apostle Paul sent to Timothy,
And don't be intimidated by those who are older than you; simply be the example they need to see by being faithful and true in all that you do. Speak the truth and live a life of purity and authentic love as you remain strong in your faith.I Timothy 4: 12 (The Passion Translation)
With Love,
The Estherian.
