TCS: Let's Talk About Sex

Image
Sex, a means of reproduction or an avenue for pleasure?  This, I believe, is one of the questions that plague the mind of a lot of people because I don’t understand why nobody wants to talk about it especially to teenagers or why it is talked about in hushed tones. Growing up here in Nigeria and a Christian family, the only thing I learnt about sex is, don’t have sex before you marry. But we are humans and are naturally curious about things and in this century, the next place to turn to is the internet. The danger with that is without a filter, there is a chance to pick up on all the wrong stuff.  What is the implication of not talking about sex in the modern age, and what are the issues surrounding the nasty S-word? Today on TCS, I am joined by an amazing friend, and we would be talking about sex. Note: This conversation has been condensed and edited for clarity. Welcome to TCS and welcome to my blog. It is amazing to have you here. So to kick this off, I would like you to introduc

Familiar Strangers

Image
There is a cycle that describes the stories of love that burn out, and the people found in them that become just another pair of strangers, the familiar kind. It is a common cycle we find ourselves in; we get to know someone or at least who they say they are, we spend so much time with them and we give out pieces of ourselves with the certainty of never getting them back. We look forward to spending time with each other and above all, say a silent wish to never parting. The thing is we do part, be it by distance or by reasoning, the things out of our control or decisions we choose to make. And the sad thing about it all is thee memories left behind with the power of haunting you and bringing tears to your eyes.  Source: Pinterest (I) There are memories of us I have forgotten but I remember your name and the stories my mum told me of how we made two mothers become friends. I can remember your house had a farm in it, and you kept rabbits. I remember being nervous to touch them. But the m

THE TABLE

Image
Hello lovely humans🤭 Today, we are discussing the table, that one you stay/live in. We will see how you deal with it, are you coping with your fellow occupants? Is there mutuality among your lot? I know we are familiar with the popular slang on the social media then like the ‘table shakers’,’ I am on this table’, ‘shake table’, ‘table has broken’ (hahaha). Though they are stale and are still low-key in use, I want to briefly expatiate on ‘the table’ (ahem). Now according to the wise ones (I will be randomly quoting them hehe), there are the occupants of the table. The occupants are those that live around the table, where is best befitting for them. There are few types but we are going to check out the four major occupants of the table. The table shakers These are the sacrificial lambs of the table. They are the first occupants and major contributors to the table. They bear the crosses of all the faults of the fellow occupants. Surface dwellers These are the neutral members of the tabl

TDS: Satisfying A Wanderlust

Image
Source: Pinterest Wan·der·lust /ˈwändÉ™rËŒlÉ™st/ noun: wanderlust A strong desire to travel. One thing I love about my father is his love for adventures. He is always interested in going somewhere new and coming back with stories of how such a journey went. He loves travelling and somehow; I fell in love with travelling too. There is something quite fascinating about being somewhere no one knows you, somewhere you can take in the sights and get lost in it, somewhere that can captivate you and show you how diverse life is.  I am always on the lookout for something that would get me away from the life I am living. I am always waiting, maybe impatiently for something to break my routine and the mundane life that has somehow become my every day. I crave experiences that are pockets of joy, where time can stop, and I can let loose. I am always looking for an opportunity to escape home, and maybe I was born to be a nomad of sorts, going from place to place in search of somewhere new for my soul
